In 1900 the Bündner Kunstverein began assembling an art collection. Long since, however, it has been the task of the Stiftung Bündner Kunstsammlung (BKS) to systematically acquire works for the Bündner Kunstmuseum in order to enlarge the stock in a sensible way. In the meantime the collection comprises approximately 8000 works from all sectors of fine art from the 18th century up to the present. A small part of the inventory is exhibited permanently on three floors of the Villa Planta. These are mostly works by artists from Graubünden or Switzerland. These are predominantly works by Swiss or Grisons artists. There are representative works by Angelika Kauffmann, Giovanni Segantini, Augusto Giacometti, Giovanni Giacometti, Alberto Giacometti, Ferdinand Hodler, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, along with exponents of the 'Rot-Blau' group and contemporary Grisons artists such as Matias Spescha, Not Vital, HR Giger, Pascale Wiedemann and Jules Spinatsch. With the video installations by Zilla Leutenegger or Gabriela Gerber/Lukas Bardill media art has been firmly established in the presentation of our collection.

1900 begann der Bündner Kunstverein mit dem Aufbau einer Kunstsammlung. Längst ist es aber die Aufgabe der Stiftung Bündner Kunstsammlung (BKS), für das Bündner Kunstmuseum gezielt Werke zu erwerben, um die Bestände sinnvoll zu mehren. Die Sammlung umfasst mittlerweile etwa 8000 Arbeiten aus allen Bereichen der bildenden Kunst vom 18. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart. Ein kleiner Teil der Bestände ist permanent auf drei Geschossen in der Villa Planta ausgestellt. Es sind vorwiegend Werke von Bündner oder Schweizer Künstlern und Künstlerinnen. Mit umfassenden Werkgruppen sind Angelika Kauffmann, Giovanni Segantini, Augusto Giacometti, Giovanni Giacometti, Alberto Giacometti, Ferdinand Hodler, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, die Vertreter der Gruppe «Rot-Blau» und zeitgenössische Bündner KünstlerInnen wie Matias Spescha, Not Vital, HR Giger, Pascale Wiedemann oder Jules Spinatsch vertreten. Einen festen Platz in der Sammlungspräsentation nimmt auch die Medienkunst mit Videoinstallationen von Zilla Leutenegger oder Gabriela Gerber/Lukas Bardill ein.

Nel 1900 la Società grigione di Belle Arti iniziò a dar forma a una collezione d'arte. Da molto tempo è però compito della Fondazione collezione d'arte grigione (BKS) acquistare in modo mirato opere per il Museo d'arte dei Grigioni, per accrescere in modo sensato il fondo del Museo. Nel frattempo, la collezione conta circa 8000 opere provenienti da tutti i settori delle arti figurative, dal XVIII secolo fino ai giorni nostri. Una parte è esposta in via permanente su tre piani di Villa Planta. Si tratta prevalentemente di opere di artisti grigionesi o svizzeri.
