Madeira Island is a great birdwatching destination due to its unique position and ecosystem, many bird species can easily be observed here starting with the land birds, such as the Trocaz Pigeon, Berthelot's Pipit, Buzzard Buteo, Sparrow hawk and a number of sea birds, such as the Fea's Petrel, Zino's Petrel, Cory's, Manx, Little, Great shearwater, Madeiran Storm-petrel, Atlantic Yellow-legged Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull and Ring-billed Gull.

A Ilha da Madeira é um excelente destino para a observação de aves devido à sua localização única e ao seu ecossistema. Aqui podem observar-se muitas aves terrestres como o pombo trocaz (Columba trocaz), o corre-caminhos (Anthus berthelotii), a manta (Butteo butteo harterti) e o francelho (Falco tinnunculus canariensis) e muitas aves marinhas como a freira do Bugio (Pterodroma feae), a freira (Pterodroma madeira), a cagarra-de-cory (Calonectris diomedea), o patagarro (Puffinus puffinus), o pintaínho (Puffinus assimilis), a cagarra-de-colarinho (Puffinus gravis), o roque de castro (Oceanodroma castro), a gaivota de patas amarelas (Larus michahellis atlantis), a gaivota d'asa escura (Larus fuscus) e a gaivota de bico riscado (Larus delawarensis).
