« - Мы работаем над тем, чтобы установить максимально тесное сотрудничество с максимальным числом наиболее известных экспертов в области энергетики из разных стран мира. Процесс любой известной премии – живой процесс, а научной - особенно, об абсолютной объективности говорить сложно. Задача Партнерства как организатора - обеспечить прозрачность и объективность отбора номинантов, предоставить членам Международного комитета максимально возможную информацию по всем номинантам и особенно вошедшим в шорт-лист, составленный международными экспертами и экспертной комиссией Международного комитета. Важная тема – Региональные или национальные комитеты поддержки премии. Сейчас вопросы их формирования активно прорабатываются. К слову, первое заседание Центральноевропейского Регионального комитета состоится уже в январе 2015 года. Я рад, что у нас полное взаимопонимание с учредителями премии, членами Партнерства «Глобальная энергия».

“- We work on the creation of tense cooperation with the maximum amount of the most famous energy experts from different countries in the world. Each famous prize is a “life” process. It’s hard to be absolutely objective. It’s due to the Partnership to make the nomination most objective and fair, to give to the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee all the information needed. The Regional of National Support Committees of the Global Energy Prize are really crucial. By the way, the first meeting of the Central European Support Committee is scheduled for the January 2015. I am happy that we have a full understanding with the Prize founders. Alexei Miller, Vladimir Bogdanov and Andrei Murov give us support and trust us on the operation process.” Sharing his 2015 forecasts, the Partnership’s President Igor Lobovsky noticed: “I m sure we are facing a breakthrough. The submissions period is up to closing end of December. As for now we already have a record number of them, which exceeds last year's level in more than 2 times. We are creating a sort of “broad and deep fishing network” which ensures the effectiveness of the “catch”: interesting laureates and breakthrough technologies. I am sure that in 2015 we will be able to talk about new bright laureates, who will be chosen because of organizational innovations of the Partnership”.

Secondly, the short list of nominees was enlarged to ten instead of six. Thirdly, the Partnership purchased and partially developed special software which serves for a unique system of submitting the nominations. From now on, each nominating person has their own individual login and password. The system has become more convenient for usage: all the processes within it are fully automated. After the evaluation of nominations submitted by the members of the Experts group of the International Award Committee, the system ranks them and thus reveals the shortlist. There is no room for a mistake. It is worth to mention that the members of the International Award Committee have the opportunity to get acquainted with all the materials in two languages: English and Russian. This increases the objectivity of the evaluation process. The system is anonymous, transparent, and is absolutely secure.

As a recall, the international media competition “Energy of Words” was established in 2004. It recognizes mass media and journalists covering the most pivotal global energy issues and trends. The participants are from all around the world. More than 40 countries have already submitted around 600 of entries in different languages. This time the nominations for the “Energy of Words” came from 4 continents: starting from South Korea, Nepal, Pakistan, Kenya and Nigeria to Canada, Germany, Germany and the USA. All the nominated materials were published in mass media from the 1st of March 2015 till the 1st of February 2016. The winner was chosen by the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee, consisting of 20 renowned scientists from 13 countries of the world.

The short list of the nominees for the Global Energy Prize was announced today, May 25, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2018). Within the framework of the panel session ‘Science is doing what politics cannot do’ Rae Kwon Chung (Korea), the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee member, unveiled the top 10 of candidates. Among the possible winners of the award, which recognizes annually breakthrough technologies in the field of energy from all over the world, are the world's leading scientists. They represent Australia, China, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and the USA. The laureates of the Global Energy Prize will be announced on June 6, 2018 during the official press conference in Moscow.
