Der Referenztransponder R-Tag wird gegenüber des ATM im materialgeschützten Bereich z.B. an der Seitenwand des Förderbandes montiert. Der R-Tag wird neu direkt mit Strom versorgt und ein Auswechseln aufgrund der Batterieladung ist nicht mehr nötig. Die Funktion des R-Tag ist die Anlage im 1-Sekundentakt mit einem Testsignal zu versorgen: Fällt dieses Testsignal aus (3 Sekunden) stellt die gekoppelte Anlage über das ALM im NOT-Halt ab.
