Daraus resultiert ein reduzierter Sauerstoffgehalt des Wassers. Ein Koi benötigt bei 10 °C Wassertemperatur 45 mg Sauerstoff pro kg Fischgewicht pro Stunde. Bei 20 °C verdoppelt sich der Sauerstoffbedarf und beim Fressen steigt er auf bis zu 500 mg Sauerstoff pro kg Fisch in der Stunde!

Durch die vergleichsweise dichte Bepflanzung von vornherein sollte die Einfahrphase recht problemlos und algenfrei überstanden werden. Die ersten 2 Wochen empfehle ich, bei diesem Layout, 2 x 50 % Wasserwechsel pro Woche zu machen, um die durch das Soil ( JBL ProScape PlantSoil BEIGE ) eingebrachten Nährstoffe nicht Überhand gewinnen zu lassen.

Physiologisch berechnet, besteht ein Futterbedarf großer Koi von etwa 2 % ihres Körpergewichts pro Tag. Daraus resultieren hohe Phosphatbelastungen in Koiteichen. Wenn nun Koifreunde einen Phosphat-Test durchführen, reicht die Skala nach oben meist nicht aus, weil der PO4-Wert höher als der maximal messbare Wert des Tests liegt.

Die JBL Forschungsabteilung hat herausgefunden, wie man fast geräuschlose Luftpumpen noch leiser machen kann: Die Spezialform der Gummifüße der a100 und a200 konnte optimiert werden: Statt zweier kleiner Zapfen, die die Pumpen mit dem Untergrund pro Fuß verbinden, werden modifizierte Füße mit nur einem Zapfen verbaut.

Both the a300 and the a400 still have 2 pins, but they are now made of silicone like the new ones. This small change has resulted in a surprisingly high reduction in resonance noise.
De JBL onderzoeksafdeling heeft uitgevonden hoe ze de al bijna geluidloze luchtpompen nog stiller kunnen maken. De vorm van de rubber voetjes van a100 en a200 is geoptimaliseerd. In plaats van twee smalle pinnetjes die de voetjes met de vloer verbinden hebben we nu slechts één pinnetje geïnstalleerd. Bij de a300 en a400 zijn er nog steeds 2 pinnetjes aanwezig maar deze zijn nu van siliconen gemaakt, net als het ene pinnetje bij de a100 en a200.
