In 1908 she served as an honorary vice-president of the association’s congress in New York. One of her ambitions was to form a Canadian association similar in mandate to the PAA. In 1913 she reported to the National Council of Women that there was strong support for the proposal, but the drive behind the idea died with her.

Tant avant qu’après la vente de l’hôtel familial par elle-même et M. Evelyn, Mabel Phoebe Peters voyagea beaucoup pour promouvoir les terrains de jeu. Dans la seule année 1912–1913, elle visita Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, London, Walkerville (Windsor, Ontario) et Moncton, et elle assista à Montréal à l’assemblée annuelle du National Council of Women. Ses voyages aux États-Unis lui permirent de faire la connaissance d’une grande réformatrice sociale de Chicago, Jane Addams, et de se lier avec des membres de la Playground Association of America. Elle appartint à cette organisation dès 1907 et fut membre de son conseil national en 1907–1908. Elle agit à titre de vice-présidente honoraire au congrès de l’association à New York en 1908. Une de ses ambitions était de former une association du même genre au Canada. En 1913, elle signala au National Council of Women que cette idée était très populaire, mais la volonté d’y donner suite mourut avec elle.

Les deux collections de papiers les plus utiles de Robert George Brett sont le fonds de la famille Brett conservé au Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, Arch. and Library, Banff, Alberta (M1/V83) et le fonds Brett aux GA (M 131-132) ; le dossier Brett aux PAA (69.282) est négligeable. Il est cependant décevant de constater que ces collections sont incomplètes ; elles ne contiennent pratiquement rien sur la carrière politique de Brett. On trouve de nombreux albums de photographies de famille à Banff, mais un grand nombre de photos ne sont pas identifiées. Les quelques papiers de Mme Brett sont d’une utilité limitée. Les comptes rendus parus dans le journal Crag and Canyon de Banff (1900–1905) et l’hebdomadaire Calgary Herald (1886–1925) se sont avérés plus utiles pour reconstituer certains aspects de la carrière de Brett.

On trouve des réminiscences sur ses jeunes années aux GA dans le journal personnel et la correspondance de Mme Ella Inderwick, M 559, et dans les papiers de F. W. G. Haultain, M 495. Le nom de McCaul figure souvent dans les procès-verbaux de 1890–1904 de la Calgary Bar Association, documents conservés aux GA, M 1925. La documentation que nous avons recueillie a été versée aux General Synod Arch. sous la cote M94-05 ; en plus des documents de recherche photocopiés, la collection comprend des originaux de notes de sermon, de la correspondance et des photos de famille, et l’enregistrement des entrevues que nous avons réalisées en 1976 avec la dernière fille survivante de Holmes.
