I’m now working as Head of Student Affairs at the EPFL university in Lausanne. Many of my tasks are similar to those carried out at SAD – managing a team, solving problems, using diplomacy in an intercultural environment and generally trying to improve life for young people. I’m enjoying the opportunity to have direct contact with students, as well as working at a strategic level. My time at SAD provided useful experience for my current role.

Im ersten Projektteil erforschten die SAD und ihre Partnerinnen die Lebensbedingungen, Werthaltungen und Zukunftsperspektiven junger Erwachsener zwischen 15 und 29 Jahren in ganz Russland. In Zusammenarbeit mit der DEZA in Moskau und der International Organization for Migration (IOM) untersuchte die SAD zusätzlich das Thema Menschenhandel.

In the first part of the project, SAD and partners researched the living conditions, values and future prospects of 15–29 year olds across Russia. In cooperation with the SDC in Moscow and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), SAD also researched human trafficking. On behalf of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Moscow, the theme of violence was included in the study. The first part of the research was a Russia-wide survey of young people’s living conditions, values and future prospects. In focus group discussions in five regions of the Caucasus, young people’s concerns and problems were debated.
