Rhoi'r gorau i ysmygu yw'r peth gorau mae ysmygwr yn gallu gwneud ar gyfer ei iechyd - mae'n ffaith bod 1 ym mhob 2 ysmygwr hir tymor yn mynd i marw o'r gaeth marwol yma.

Un salwch hir dymor gall ysmygwyr datblygu yw diabetes. Para am 5 mlynedd di-fwg a bydd y siawns o’r clefyd datblygu yn union yr un peth a rhywun sydd ddim yn ysmygu.
Diabetes is an illness long-term smokers can develop. Make it 5 years smokefree and the risks of it occurring are the same a non-smoker.

Cerdded pellteroedd hir yn lot haws nawr. Dylai unrhyw peswch gwael wedi diflannu, ond os nad ydyny, mae cael eich gweld gan ddoctor yn bwysig oherwydd gall hyn for yn arwydd o rywbeth mwy sinistr.
Walking long distances is a lot easier now. Any bad coughs should have disappeared, but if not, being seen by a doctor is imperative as it can be a sign of something more sinister.
  Smygu yn ystod beichiog...
Mae smygu’n achosi problemau tymor byr a thymor hir i blant heb eu geni a phlant, o enedigaeth cynamserol i risg uwch o gamesgor, marw-enedigaeth neu marwolaeth sydyn babanod2:

“Mae pecynnau safonol wedi cael eu cyflwyno’n llwyddiannus yn Awstralia ac fe gânt eu cyflwyno cyn bo hir yn Seland Newydd ac Iwerddon. Mae’n beth trist bod Llywodraeth y Deyrnas Unedig wedi penderfynu ochri gyda’r diwydiant tybaco yn hytrach na’n plant ni.
“Standard packs have been successfully introduced in Australia and will be soon in New Zealand and Ireland. It is a sad indictment that the UK Government has decided to side with the tobacco industry over our children."

Mae’r corff dynol yn peth arbennig – ond 20 munud ar ôl y sigarét olaf, mae’n dechrau adennill. Nicotin, y cemegyn caeth yn sigaréts, yn ymarfer fel symbylydd ac yn rhoi’r ‘cic’ pwysig. Dim yn hir ar ôl y pwff olaf o fwg, gwasgedd gwaed a churiad y galon yn dychwelyd i normal.
The human body is an amazing thing - just 20 minutes after that last cigarette, it begins to recover. Nicotine, the addictive chemical in smoking, acts as a stimulant and gives that all important ‘kick’. Not long after the last puff of smoke, heart rate and blood pressure return to normal following this high.
  Awgrymiadau i roi'r gor...
Nid yw hyn yn rheswm dros beidio â rhoi cynnig arni. Cofiwch longyfarch eich hun a theimlo’n falch o bob awr ddi-fwg a phob diwrnod di-fwg. Cyn bo hir byddwch chi’n dathlu misoedd a blynyddoedd di-fwg. Dychmygwch pa mor wych bydd hynny’n teimlo!
We can't promise quitting smoking will be easy. It will take willpower and it will be a challenge. But never give up on giving up. Congratulate yourself and remember to feel proud of every smokefree hour and every smokefree day. Soon you’ll be celebrating smokefree months and years. And just think how great that will feel!

Ni ellir barnu bod e-sigaréts yn gwbl ddiogel o gofio bod ymchwil wedi canfod bod ynddynt rai carsinogenau a gwenwynau. Fodd bynnag, derbynnir yn gyffredinol bod e-sigaréts yn llawer llai niweidiol i iechyd na chynhyrchion tybaco. Mae angen rhagor o ymchwil i ganfod beth yw effaith e-sigaréts ar iechyd yn y tymor hir.
E-cigarettes are increasingly being used for smoking cessation purposes and preliminary evidence indicates that e-cigarettes facilitates reductions in cigarette consumption among smokers. More research is required however to determine the overall effectiveness of e-cigarettes as a smoking cessation aid.

Y cam gorau y gall ysmygwr cymryd ar gyfer eu iechyd yw i roi’r gorau i ysmygu – mae’n ffaith bod 1 ym mhob 2 ysmygwr hir dymor yn mynd i farw o’r gaeth marwol yma. Y mantra yw “pawb yn marw yn y pen draw” ond ar gyfartaledd mae ysmygwyr yn marw 10 mlynnedd yn gynt ac yn aml, o salwch lot fwy poenus a gwanychol fel canser yr ysgyfaint, trawiad y galon a strociau.
Quitting smoking is the best thing any smoker can do for their health - it’s a fact that 1 in 2 long-term smokers will die from this deadly addiction. The mantra may be that “we all die eventually” but smokers die on average 10 years earlier and tragically, from much more painful and debilitating illnesses such as lung cancer, heart attacks and strokes.

Mae amlygiad i fwg ail-law yn cael effaith andwyol mawr i’r iechyd o wylwyr sydd ddim yn ‘smygu, yn cynyddu’r siawns o ddatblygu canser yr ysgyfaint a chlefyd coronaidd y galon. Hyn yn wir ar gyfer amlygiad i fwg ail-law yn y tymor hir ac yn y tymor byr.
Prisons are places where people live and work. Inmates and staff have as much right as the general population to be protected from toxic tobacco smoke in their home and workplace. Exposure to SHS has a major adverse impact on the health of non-smoking bystanders, increasing the risk of developing lung cancer and coronary heart disease. This is the case for both short-term and long-term exposure to SHS. It has been estimated that domestic exposure to SHS in the UK causes around 2,700 deaths in people aged 20-63 and a further 8,000 deaths a year among people aged 65 years and older5.

Tystiolaeth yn awgrymu fod y perygl o farw neu dioddef o salwch sy’n cysylltiedig efo tybaco yn cael ei leihau yn ddramatig o fewn blwyddyn o roi’r gorau iddi. Trwy rhwystro’r carcharorion a’r swyddogion carchar rhag ysmygu gyda gwaharddiad bydd iechyd y grwp yma yn wella, yn ogystal i’r cost ariannol hir dymor o drin salwch sy’n gysylltiedig ag ysmygu.
Smoking has a major adverse impact on a smoker's health, contributing to, amongst other things, an increased risk of developing cardiovascular / respiratory disease, diabetes, and a variety of cancers3. For this reason cigarette smoking is the single biggest cause of preventable illness and premature death in the UK4. Evidence suggests that the risk of dying or having a tobacco related illness is dramatically reduced within a year of stopping smoking and hence by preventing prison inmates and officers from smoking through a ban would serve to significantly improve their health, as well as reduce the longer term costs of treating smoking related illnesses.
  Cynhyrchion gwresogi ni...
Oherwydd hanes hir camddefnydd a thwyll gan y diwydiant tybaco o ran tystiolaeth wyddonol a meddygol, bydd angen i Lywodraeth y Deyrnas Unedig gael cyngor arbenigol ar y dystiolaeth sy’n dod i’r amlwg am gynhyrchion gwresogi nid llosgi a chynhyrchion tybaco newydd eraill.
Given much of the harm caused by smoking is a result of the by-products of tobacco combustion it is possible that heat not burn products will be proved to be less harmful than smoked tobacco, given they do not possess this combustion element. At present however there is insufficient evidence to reach this conclusion. Almost all the research on heat not burn that currently exists has been undertaken by the tobacco industry. Because of the long record of tobacco industry manipulation and deceit over scientific and medical evidence the UK Government will need expert advice on the emerging evidence on heat not burn and other novel tobacco products. Many within the public health community are calling on the UK Government to establish an independent expert committee to examine not just the toxicity of heat not burn devices relative to conventional tobacco cigarettes, but also the broader health and related social impacts of heat not burn products. For instance, do they act as a gateway to tobacco smoking among non–smokers?; and/or do they renormalise smoking as an activity? Further independent research is required to provide answers to these questions.
Lansio Ap I Helpu Pobl ...
Caiff pobl ifanc eu gwahodd i drechu’r ysfa gyda phrif swyddogaeth yr ap – y tynnwr sylw. Rhoddir ‘thema’ neu ysgogiad i ddefnyddwyr i greu delwedd ac amserydd tri munud sy’n cyfrif i lawr. Y nod yw tynnu sylw pobl ifanc yn ddigon hir i’r ysfa am dybaco ddarfod.
Young people are invited to beat their cravings with the app's primary function - the distractor. Users are given a 'theme' or prompt to create an image and a three-minute countdown timer. The aim is to provide young people with a distraction long enough for their tobacco craving to pass.
