"The National Disabled Visitors Card Scheme is an exciting and ambitious initiative that will result in a major change in how our disabled customers access the arts in Wales. We, at Arts Council of Wales, have been in conversation with disabled visitors and their carers for some time about the possibility of developing a national scheme and I am delighted that we have now reached the point where we can begin to make this a reality. The partnership between Creu Cymru and Diverse Cymru promises to make this a ground breaking and far reaching transformation."

Mae'n cynnwys caneuon a ysgrifennodd trwy gydol ei gyrfa; o'i chân gyntaf, "Sweet Joy", i'r gân gan Nick Drake & Beverley Martin, "Reckless Jane", nas recordwyd o'r blaen ac a ddechreuwyd arni yn 1974 pan oedd Drake yn byw ger Beverley yn Hampstead. "Fe ddechreuasom ysgrifennu'r gân fel tipyn o jôc", meddai, "allwn i ddim edrych arni am amser hir wedi iddo farw, ond yna, o'r diwedd, fe benderfynnais ei gorffen."

Described by Beverley as a very personal album, it features songs written throughout her entire career, from her very first song, "Sweet Joy", to the previously unrecorded Nick Drake & Beverley Martyn song "Reckless Jane" which was started in 1974 when Drake lived nearby Beverley in Hampstead. "We started writing the song as a bit of a joke," she says, "I couldn’t look at it for a long time after he died, but then finally I decided to finish it."

Er enghraifft, mae ffilmiau a ffotograffau barddonol Sharon Lockhart wedi golygu cydweithio’n agos dros gyfnod hir o amser â grwpiau ac unigolion o rannau anweledig cymdeithas, y rhai heb gynrychiolaeth.
Many of the artists on the shortlist work in collaboration with individuals and communities. For example Sharon Lockhart’s poetic films and photographs involve working closely, over a long period of time, with groups and individuals from the unrepresented and unseen sections of society. The work of Karen Mirza and Brad Butler questions what we mean by these notions of collaboration and participation. Their practice includes film, performance, curating and publishing. Ragnar Kjartansson’s work also involves collaboration, often with musicians, in performance and installations through which he explores themes of friendship, human emotions, love and beauty. All these artists use a wide range of media, actions and strategies to comment on what it means to be human in contemporary society.

Yn fyd enwog am ei gerfluniau mawr wedi eu creu o goed gwyrdd, sy’n altro a newid yn dilyn ymyrraeth ganddo, yn ogystal â cherfluniau byw allan o blanhigion neu goed yn tyfu, mae David Nash wedi cael perthynas hir gyda’r Mostyn, sy’n mynd yn ôl i’w waith Fletched Ash Dome (1977) ddangoswyd yn The Native Land, sef arddangosfa oedd yn nodi agoriad y Mostyn fel oriel gelf cyfoes ym 1979.
Known for large-scale sculptures made from unseasoned wood that alter and change after his interventions, as well as living sculptures shaped from growing plants or trees, Nash has had a long relationship with Mostyn, going back to the display of Fletched Ash Dome (1977) in The Native Land, an exhibition that marked the opening of the Mostyn as a contemporary gallery in 1979. Since the early 70’s Nash’s distinguished career has included hundreds of solo and group exhibitions throughout the world, many of them, especially in America, Japan, Spain and Poland including work made on location with locally sourced wood. In 2010 Yorkshire Sculpture Park presented an extensive exhibition of his work tracing the evolution of his career giving a vivid statement of his life's work.

Y dyddiau hyn mae bron yn amhosibl i artistiaid gynnal eu gwaith yn broffesiynol gan beidio â mentro dros y ffin ond mae'n gallu bod yn anodd iawn hefyd i gael y cyfle cyntaf sy'n ystyrlon mewn cyd-destun rhyngwladol a fydd yn gallu trawsnewid gyrfa unigolyn yn y tymor hir.
"Igniting Potential will offer targeted support for individuals with a proven track record in Wales who are at the early stages of working internationally. It’s near impossible for artists in this day and age to sustain their work professionally within the confines of national borders, but it can also be very difficult to get the first meaningful international opportunity that can transform and individual’s career in the long term. This scheme is for projects that offer a step change for artists such as Sam Perry who is preparing for his first significant exhibition of Welsh and American artists in New York."

The centrepiece is a new work - of the same name - that straddles video art and the ‘movie’. In Akula Dream, an old Russian Akula submarine, armed with ballistic nuclear missiles, has a new captain; yet Captain Pavel seems to care very little for practical matters or protocol. In fact, he feels the submariners’ jobs are a waste of time and prefers to lead discussions groups about spiritual matters. He dresses in a cassock and grows a long beard. His favourite pastime is shamanic drumming. On this strange, unspecified mission, Captain Pavel and the crew begin to project out into the world to see their future and everything above the waves in sharp clarity. Rather than getting to know the world by travelling vast distances and meeting people, they come to understand it just by sitting in the dark holding hands; precisely by being denied sight of the world, they come to see it in more clearly. Shot on a real Russian submarine, the work has impressive original CGI sequences which reference Russian art rather than the classic torpedoes firing out of submarine tubes. The crew ‘journey’ outside the hull, and make shamanic visits to strange worlds.
