Fodd bynnag, os ydych yn chwilio am natur rhowch gynnig ar deithiau cerdded bywyd gwyllt yng Ngwarchodfa Natur Genedlaethol Cynffig (GNG). Mae gan ganolfan wyddoniaeth Techniquest ym Mae Caerdydd dros 130 o arddangosion rhyngweithiol ar gyfer pob oed, o 8 i 80.
Coney Beach Funfair offers fun for the family at Porthcawl, however if it is nature you’re looking for try the wildlife walks at Kenfig National Nature Reserve (NNR). Techniquest science centre in Cardiff Bay has more than 130 interactive exhibits for ages ranging from 8 to 80. Try some Spooky Science there during half term week, as the scary side of science is explored, covering topics such as why we use science to create potions and ghosts. Get active outdoors on the Cardiff Bay Barrage, where visitors can make free use of the 1,100 sq metre skate plaza. Visitors to Chepstow Castle can step back in time to the Middle Ages, as they witness mediaeval re-enactments in period costumes. There are also tours of the historic building and demonstrations by the Black Rock Lave Net Fishermen, who use traditional Welsh methods of catching salmon in the Severn Estuary.
  Cariad ar y cam cyntaf
Sylwodd swyddogion twristiaeth yr ynys fod nifer fawr o bobl sengl yn mynychu teithiau cerdded wedi’u trefnu, ac felly penderfynwyd trefnu taith wib-fachu. Daeth pobl o bell, gan gynnwys o Lundain, Birmingham a Chaint.
The stunning backdrop of Newton Beach, near Porthcawl is set to be the venue for the first speed dating walk in South Wales on Sunday, October 7, from 3.30pm. The event is part of Bridgend Council’s Love2Walk Festival; a nine-day celebration of all things pedestrian and follows in the footsteps of a successful speed dating walk on the Isle of Wight. Tourism officers there noticed a lot of single people turning out for organised walks and set up a trial speed dating stroll. People came from as far and wide as London, Birmingham and Kent. In the six years since it was established, the event has been responsible for four marriages and a baby.

Roedd yr uchafbwyntiau eraill yn cynnwys rhannau o Gymru nad oedd gennyf ddisgwyliadau mawr yn eu cylch, gan gynnwys Arfordir Ceredigion, a oedd yn wyllt, yn ysblennydd ac yn amddifad o gerddwyr eraill.
The other highlights involved the areas of Wales that I had no, or low expectations of. These would have to include the Ceredigion Coast, which was wild, spectacular and devoid of other walkers.

Rwy’n byw yn y Fenni, yn agos at fynyddoedd Pen-y-Fâl a’r Ysgyryd Fawr ac wedi bod yn cerdded pellteroedd hir ers nifer o flynyddoedd. Roedd Llwybr Arfordir Cymru yn atyniad mawr i mi, gan fy mod eisoes wedi cwblhau Ffordd y Cambrian ac wedi cerdded drwy ganol Cymru, ymddangosai fel y lle naturiol i’m hymdaith nesaf!
I live in Abergavenny, close to the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid mountains and have been long distance walking for a number of years. I was drawn to the Wales Coast Path in particular, as I have already completed the Cambrian Way and having walked up through the centre of Wales it seemed like the most natural progression for my next trek! The opportunity to link with Offa’s Dyke and walk the circuit of the country was decided over a beer or two when my fellow walkers, Zoe Wathen, Steve Webb and I visited Cardiff for the grand opening of the Wales Coast Path on May 5th 2012. Being retired, I guess I set out to face this, my longest challenge walk yet, and become the first ‘over-sixty’ to walk 1047 miles around Wales!

Roedd yna hefyd ddyddiau pan oedd yn bosibl cael cip ar y dyfodol, yn wir ar y diwrnod cyntaf o'r Barri i Gaerdydd wrth gyfarfod Hannah a'i mul, Chico, ar eu taith o gwmpas Cymru, taith a gychwynnodd yn Aberystwyth dri mis yn gynharach a gyda mis neu ddau arall i fynd. Roeddwn i wedi cynhyrfu’n lân ar y diwrnod cyntaf, yn dyfalu beth oedd o’m blaen ond roedd Hannah i’w gweld yn deithiwr gwydn, yn flinedig ond yn cael ei gyrru gan synnwyr o bwrpas a dyletswydd.
Looking back on what was an unforgettable experience, it’s difficult to isolate particular high points. Every day had its moments - moments of beauty, charm, humour or even personal challenge. Even those when the rain sheeted down with relentless intensity or when the wind gusted and punched me sideways, pushing me ever closer to sheer cliff edges. There were days too which offered a glimpse into the future, not least the very first day from Barry to Cardiff when I met Hannah and her donkey Chico on their journey around Wales, a journey that had started in Aberystwyth three months previously and one that had another two to go. I was excited that first day, puppy-like in my expectations of what lay ahead; Hannah, I sensed had become a toughened traveller, grown weary but still driven by a sense of purpose and duty. That first morning it crossed my mind that the journey may have a few surprises in store that I hadn’t bargained for – hardly an earth shattering prediction but one that was proved correct on many occasions.

Gan imi gam-amcanu’n fawr cymaint o amser y mae’i angen ar gyfer cerdded y glannau, cefais lai o amser nag y dymunais ar gyfer cyfarfod â phobl, felly bydd rhaid imi ddychwelyd ambell i waith ym 2014, er mwyn gweld pobl eto, neu bobl a gollais…ond gan yrru.
As I grossly underestimated the time it takes to walk coastal miles, I ended up with less time than I wanted for meeting people, so I will do a couple of return trips in 2014, to see people again or people I missed ... but this time driving! If you live in one of the communities around the Coast Path or borders and would like to talk about issues that are important in your locality, please get in touch.

Roedd cais y tîm yn adlewyrchu ymdrechion pob un o’r partneriaid a gymerodd ran, gan gynnwys Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru, un ar bymtheg o awdurdodau lleol a dau barc cenedlaethol, i ddarparu gweledigaeth Llywodraeth Cymru, sef agoriad swyddogol y llwybr parhaol cyntaf ar hyd arfordir gwlad.
The team’s entry reflected the efforts of all partners involved, including Natural Resources Wales, sixteen local authorities and two national parks, towards delivering the Welsh Government vision, of officially opening the world’s first continuous footpath around a country’s coastline.

Dyma’r llecyn arfordirol rydw i wedi ymweld ag ef amlaf yn ystod fy mywyd, mae’n debyg, ac erbyn i mi gyrraedd y brig roedd pawb arall wedi mynd. Roedd hi’n pistyllio bwrw ac roeddwn i’n gwrando ar “Won’t Get Fooled Again” gan The Who.
High Points: I made it to the top of Dinas Head in Pembrokeshire as rain clouds opened up. Everyone was running down from the headland as I was walking up to the top. It’s probably the place I’ve most visited on the coast over the course of my life and by the time I got to the top I had it all to myself. It was lashing down and I was listening to “Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who.

Yn olaf, roedd dychwelyd i Gas-gwent ar ôl llwyddo i gerdded y llwybr yn yr amser cyflymaf (20 diwrnod, 12 awr, 55 munud) ar ôl mynd o amgylch Cymru i gyd (25 diwrnod, 8 awr, 51 munud), gan gyrraedd ein targed ‘codi arian’ hefyd ar gyfer MHF a Mind UK, yn brofiad arbennig iawn.
Finally, returning to Chepstow after setting a new fastest time on the Coast Path (20d 12h 55m) and the complete loop of Wales (25d 8h 51m), whilst also hitting our fundraising target for the MHF and Mind U.K was a very special moment.

Y syndod mwyaf: arwyddion rhyfeddol aber Dyfrdwy, herwfarddoniaeth ar hyd llwybr yr A55 ger Penmaenmawr, a – o’r fath lawenydd – Gwlad y Tylwyth Teg rhwng Llandudoch a Phen-caer, a’r arddangosfa anhygoel a grëwyd gan Lyfrgell ac Archifau Roderic Bowen yn y Drindod Dewi Sant yn Llanbedr Pont Steffan.
The most surprising: amazing signage on the Dee estuary, guerilla poetry alongside the A55 path by Penmaenmawr, and – oh such joy – Fairyland between St Dogmaels and Strumble Head, and the incredible exhibition created by the Roderic Bowen Library and Archives at Trinity St David in Lampeter.
  Alan Dix
A’r trefnu! Defnyddiais gerbyd gwersylla’n “gerbyd cartref”, gan y bu arnaf angen cysylltu â chyfrifiaduron o bryd i’w gilydd, ac roedd ynddo lyfrgell fechan am Gymru a cherdded. Ond golygai hynny y bu’n rhaid imi fynd yn ôl ac ymlaen ato, ynteu pob diwrnod, ynteu pob ychydig ddiwrnodau wrth ddefnyddio llety gwely a brecwast, gydag amserlenni bws newydd ym mhob un ardal newydd….
And logistics! I used a camper van as 'base vehicle' as I needed to periodically connect to computers and had a mini-library about Wales and walking. But that meant I had to get back and forth to it, either daily or every few days when using B&Bs, with fresh bus timetables in each new area ... argh!
