Au cours de l'atelier, Amudavi a présenté les défis et les opportunités de l'agriculture biologique en Afrique de l'Est. Il a rappelé le rôle de BvAT dans la coordination l'initiative pour une agriculture écologique et biologique (EOA) adoptée par l’Union africaine.

At the workshop, Amudavi talked about the challenges but also the opportunities for organic farming in Africa. He also described the role of BvAT in coordinating implementation of the Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative (EOA) - the first initiative of its type on the African content with political support from the Africa Union. The EOA Initiative further is an important aim of NOARA, i.e. to produce, in conjunction with research bodies, robust data on organic farming and the environment. This in turn will help increase yields and contribute to sustainable agriculture.

Im Rahmen des Workshops referierte Amudavi zudem über Herausforderungen aber auch Chancen des biologischen Landbaus in Ostafrika. Er stellte die Rolle des BvAT bei der Koordination zur Implementierung der Initiative Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA) vor, die als erste ihrer Art in Afrika auch politische Unterstützung findet. Durch die EOA-Initiative wird das Ziel von NOARA unterstützt, fundiertes Datenmaterial mit Hilfe der Forschung in den Bereichen Ökolandbau und Umwelt zu erstellen, was wiederum zu verbesserten Erträgen und einer nachhaltigen Landwirtschaft beiträgt.
