Údarás na Gaeltachta welcomes the decision made by the Department of Social Protection to grant two additional TÚS schemes to the Galway and Mayo Gaeltacht. The TÚS scheme provides suitable short-term work opportunities for those who are unemployed and can employ up to 20 participants on each scheme. There are currently two TÚS schemes in place in the Galway Gaeltacht and one scheme in place in the Mayo Gaeltacht and these additional allocations will add another scheme to those two Gaeltacht areas.
