Edificación protorrománica, con orixe entre os S. IX e X. Foi mosteiro habitado por unha comunidade de monxas bieitas, contemporáneo do de S. Lourenzo de Carboeiro. Esta antiga igrexa mosteiral, está formada por dúas capelas, unha románica e outra gótica que integran ámbolos dous estilos arquitectónicos e escultóricos.
This proto-Romanic building, originates from the 9th and 10th century. It was a Monastery inhabited by a community of Benedictine nuns, a contemporary of S. Lourenzo of Carboeiro. This former monastery church consists of two chapels, one Romanesque and one Gothic in styles both integrated architecturally and sculpturally.

O Castro consta de dous recintos amurallados, un case circular situado na parte superior do outeiro, na coroa (Eira dos Mouros) e outro, que se desenvolve a una cota inferior apegado ao anterior pola parte sur e leste.
On the site called Os Castros there is a fort, this Iron Age archaeological site was recently given the name, which was taken from the nearest village, of Castro de Toiriz by archaeologists. The Castro has two walled enclosures, one nearly circular located at the top of the hill, on the crown (Eira dos Mouros) and the other at a lower level adjoined to the former on the southern and eastern points. Towards the exterior of the latter compound appears a defensive system parallel to it consisting of a trench and parapet.

No caso destes dous últimos, na actualidade, e grazas á importante colaboración e implicación do aqueólogo silledense Xulio Carballo e ao esforzo de colectivos como a Asociación Cultural da Copa do Castro e o Colectivo pola Recuperación dos Castros de Toiriz, podemos gozar de paseos pola memoria histórica dos nosos devanceiros, in situ, empregando as mesas nas áreas dispostas para o descanso e, sobre todo, ilustrándonos con todo detalle a historia, vida e costumes dos seus habitantes a través dos paneis informativos distribuídos polos recintos.
