Fl-1875 kien hemm il-ħsieb li tinbena belt u tissejjaħ Albert Town f'ġieh il-prinċep Albert, ir-raġel tar-Reġina Vittorja : il-ħsieb ma rnexxiex għal kollox, għalkemm numru ta' familji marru joqogħdu ħdejn il-knisja tal-Qalb ta' Ġesù li nbniet għal dik il-belt ġdida.
In 1875 the civil authorities planned the building of a new town which was to be called Albert Town in honour of Albert, the Prince Consort of Queen Victoria. The plan did not succeed but a number of families went to live near the church of the Sacred Heart, which had been built for the new town. In 1951 the church was given to the Capuchin friars of Marsa.

Dusina, fir-rapport taż-żjara pastorali tiegħu fl-1575 ħalla miktub li l-Mosta kienet parroċċa; fil-fatt saret parroċċa fl-1608, u n-nies tar-raħal minnufiħ bdew jaħsbu għall-bini tal-knisja ġdida fuq il-pjanta ta' Tumas Dingli.
Although Mgr. Dusina in the report of his Pastoral visit in 1575 states that Mosta was a parish, in actual fact Mosta became a parish in 1608, and the parishioners immediately started building a new church on the plans drawn by Tommaso Dingli. The present church is based on the plans of George Grognet de Vasse.

Imbagħad wara li telqu l-Ingliżi minn Malta, għall-ħabta ta’ l-1980, flok il-knisja ta' Santa Lucija, bdiet tintuża l-knisja ta' San Oswald li kienet il-knisja ta' l-isptar militari ta' l-ingliżi. Imbagħad inħass il-bżonn ta’ Ċentru Pastorali u ta’ Knisja ġdida u ikbar.
The locality of Mtarfa, formerly part of the parish of Rabat, had a considerable increase in the population during the last years. For several years the church of St. Lucia served the pastoral needs of the people residing at Mtarfa; with the departure of the British military forces St. Oswald's chapel, which was the chapel of the military hospital, was used instead. It was declared an Automomous Pastoral Zone on 19th April 2000, and was declared a parish on the 8th December 2004.
  Il-Mellieħa- maltadiocese
Iżda d-devozzjoni għas-santwarju tal-Madonna, l-eqdem wieħed f'pajjiżna, ma spiċċax fix-xejn. Il-Mellieħa reġgħet saret parroċċa fl-1844, u fil-5 ta' Settembru 1883 tbierket l-ewwel ġebla tal-Knisja l-ġdida mill-Kappillan Dun Franġisk Mallia Magri.
Mellieħa was one of the ten parishes mentioned in a document of 1436, but ceased to be a parish when the locality was no longer inhabited for fear of corsair raids; but the sanctuary of Our Lady, the oldest in Malta, remained a centre of devotion. Mellieħa became a parish again in 1844. On the 5th September 1883, the Parish Priest, Rev Francis Maria Magri blessed the first stone of the new church. The new church was blessed by Bishop Pietro Pace on 5th September 1897. It was conscrated by Bishop Mauro Caruana on the 18th February 1930.
