A booklet recording the history of Tyn Rhos and the Welsh community in the Oak Hill area. It was published in 1979 to coincide with the celebrations in Aberaeron and Oak Hill in memory of the adventurous Welsh people who had emigrated to southeast Ohio between 1818 and 1848.

She was brought up in the town of Aberaeron, in west Wales, and after following a teacher training course she taught in a local primary school until the early seventies. She met Evan on a visit to her family in Ohio and they got married in 1974 at Horeb Chapel, in Oak Hill.

Religion was an important part of the lives of these Welsh people and they must have missed worshipping in Welsh greatly because soon after arriving they started the first cause in Moriah in 1835, under the supervision of the Rev. Edward Jones from Cincinnati. Edward Jones returned to Wales in 1837 and he published a guidebook for emigrants -

She had just emigrated to America with her husband but he had died during the voyage and at the time when she met up with Edward Bebb again, she was staying with her brother, the Rev. George Roberts. Bebb married Margaret and the two returned to Dry Fork. The wooden house they built is still standing today and it is kept as a historical building. By the 1850s a great many Welsh settlers were doing quite well for themselves in southeast Ohio. Most of them were farmers but soon something happened that would change the nature of the rural community. In August 1853 the railroad arrived in Jackson and went straight through the land owned by the Welsh and this exciting new development provided them with an opportunity to venture into industrialization. The railroad supported the iron furnaces of "The Hanging Rock Iron Region" which reached from Southern Ohio into Northern Kentucky.

In 1972, the Welsh-American Heritage Museum was established in Oak Hill by Mildred Jenkins Bangert, Evan E. Davis, Ben R. Evans, D. Paul Morgan, the Rev. James A.M. Hanna and many other supporters. Financial support for the venture was received from the Evan E. Davis family and the Oak Hill Savings Bank. The Museum's unique collection reflects the lives of the Welsh people of Oak Hill and America in general and a short video clip of it can be seen through clicking on the image on the right (Welsh only).
