It can be used with people who have disabilities as well as people who weigh up to 45 stone, in cramped spaces or outdoors where no hoist is available. It is suitable for emergency services, airport personnel, public convenience managers, and the Health and Social Services sector. The product is being trialled by West Wales Fire and Rescue Service at the present time, as well as by Fire Services in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The Promove can be placed quite easily underneath a disabled person on the ground, sitting in a chair or in a tight corner. The sling gives good support, forming a bucket-shaped seat. Handles are strategically placed on the device so that it is possible for two or four workers (or even eight for heavy persons) to manage.
