CEDAC and CERC are appointed by, and report to, the Board of Directors for the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH). CADTH has recently decided to expand the membership of CEDAC from eleven to thirteen with the inclusion of two Public Members. The Board has recently, approved in principle, the constitution of CERC, which will also include two Public Members. Public Members for each committee will be selected to represent the broad public interest and will have some experience or demonstrated interest in issues related to health care, at the community, regional or national level and will ideally have some experience working with committees. They will serve in the capacity as a member of the general public and not as a representative of any specific interest, group, or organization. Public Members will be full members of CEDAC or CERC with the same responsibilities and expectations, and subject to the same terms and conditions for all members of the committee.
