El Profesor Cary Héctor, de la Universidad Quisqueya en Puerto Príncipe (Haití), destacó el papel fundamental de su país en la historia mundial y los aportes que Haití ha hecho a la herencia afro-descendiente del continente, destacando en particular el antiesclavismo, el antirracismo y el anticolonialismo. “Hoy en día la revolución haitiana no sólo no está olvidada, sino que es reconocida por el aporte que ha brindado a la humanidad”, afirmó.
