I Campionati mondiali di sci del 1970 nono sono stati solo una pietra miliare nella storia della Val Gardena, ma anche una delle tappe più importanti nell'organizzazione delle grandi manifestazioni sportive.

The 1970 Ski World Championships not only formed an important milestone in the history of the valley but also constituted an significant stage in the organization of major sporting events. The World Cup was the starting point for new technologies, for innovative forms of advertising, but above all it offered a unique opportunity to make this valley located in the heart of the Dolomites known all over the world. At the time, the races ended in four different finish areas, namely Ronc, Ciampinoi, Cir and Saslonch.

Diese Weltmeistersschaften bildeten nicht nur einen wichtigen Meilenstein in der Geschichte von Gröden, sondern stellten auch eine wichtige Etappe in der Organisation von sportlichen Großveranstaltungen dar. Die WM brachte neue Technologien und innovative Werbeformen in das Tal im Herzen der Dolomiten und war vor allem eines: eine unwiederbringliche Gelegenheit den Ort in der ganzen Welt bekannt zu machen. Die Rennen endeten damals in vier Zielanlagen: Ronc, Ciampinoi, Cir und Saslonch.
