Diese Liebe endete tragisch und das Grab von Veronika sollte sich in der ehemaligen Kartause befinden. Von dem Klostergebäude sind bis heute die Kirche des hl. Mauritius mit einer besonderen Architektur und ein Teil der Mauer erhalten geblieben.

In the 12th century, the secluded Gračnica valley was inhabited by the Carthusian monks. The valley reveals a story of the mysterious lives of the Carthusian monks, mystical corridors, library and the love between Frederick II, Count of Cilli, and Veronika of Desenice, which ended tragically. However, it is believed that Veronika of Desenice is buried in the monastery. The Church of St. Maurice with its characteristic architectural features and part of the wall have preserved until the present day.

La solitaria valle di Gračnica, dove nel XII secolo arrivarono i certosini, nasconde le storie di vita segreta dei monaci, di corridoi misteriosi, di biblioteca e dell’amore tra Frederico II di Cilli e Veronika Deseniška, che infatti finì in tragedia. Si suppone che la probabile tomba di Veronica si trovi proprio nell’ex-certosa. Del vecchio complesso di certosa fino a oggi rimane solo la chiesa di San Maurizio, con numerosi ed eccezionali elementi architettonici, inoltre una parte delle mura.
