There he spent over 12 years, with various positions in Switzerland and abroad, most recently responsible for Finance & Controlling at GM Suisse and at GM Europe for the Europe-wide introduction of SAP in the areas of Finance and Purchasing.

Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de l'Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Zürich et un Master of Science (MSc) en Manufacturing Engineering à l'Université Brunel à Londres, Markus Abeler a commencé sa carrière chez General Motors Europe, où il y a passé plus de 12 ans, en occupant divers postes en Suisse et à l'étranger. Le dernier poste occupé a été responsable des finances et du contrôle de gestion chez GM Suisse et chez GM Europe pour l'introduction de SAP à l'échelle européenne dans les domaines des finances et des achats. Il est ensuite passé au conseil, d'abord chez PwC, puis en tant que consultant indépendant. Depuis début 2018, il est responsable des finances de la division New Mobility chez AMAG Automobil- und Motoren AG.

Nach seinem Abschluss an der ETH in Zürich in Betriebs- und Produktionswissenschaften und einem Master of Science (MSc) in Fertigungstechnik an der Brunel University in London, startete er seine Karriere bei General Motors Europe. Dort verbrachte er über 12 Jahre, mit verschiedenen Stationen im In- und Ausland, zuletzt verantwortlich für Finanzen & Controlling bei GM Suisse und bei GM Europe für die europaweite Einführung von SAP für die Bereiche Finanzen und Einkauf. Danach wechselte er in die Beratung, zuerst zu PwC und danach als selbständiger Berater. Seit Anfang 2018 ist er als Head of Finance für den Bereich New Mobility bei der AMAG Automobil- und Motoren AG verantwortlich.
