CRG Racing team’s ambitions for 2018 are high, but the main target of the weekend is to continue the development work done during winter, ahead of the CIK-FIA Championships, as explained by Glenn Keyaert (CRG team manager): “The competitive season starts too early for us and therefore these early races in January and February are a technical test bench and prosecution of the work done over winter, before the CIK-FIA Championships. The new drivers will have to complete the acquaintance process with our technical staff and get more familiar with working methodologies too. For this reason, the fact that WSK does not employ the same tyres used in CIK-FIA Championships in all categories is an unknown we would have preferred not to have. At this point in the season, our work is focused on technical details since we introduced a lot of new things, like the Heron chassis, that made a great debut last weekend and that will compete next to our KT2, KT4 and Road Rebel chassis. We still need to complete some tests and collect data on chassis and engine, these pieces of information will certainly be handy in the rest of the season. This year we extended our collaboration with TM to several drivers of classes OKJ and OK and we have a very tight schedule also on this front. Our ambitions are still high and we are very positive for this weekend”.

Per il Racing team di CRG le ambizioni in chiave 2018 sono elevate, ma l’obiettivo principale del weekend sarà soprattutto quello di proseguire il lavoro invernale in vista dei Campionati CIK-FIA, come ci spiga Glenn Keyaert (team manager CRG): “La stagione agonistica dal nostro punto di vista inizia troppo presto e necessariamente queste gare nei mesi di Gennaio e Febbraio diventano un banco di prova tecnico collegato con l’attività dei test invernali in vista dei campionati CIK-FIA. Anche i nuovi piloti dovranno completare l’affiatamento con lo staff tecnico e le metodologie di lavoro, e da questo punto di vista il fatto che le gomme utilizzate in WSK non siano per tutte le categorie le stesse dei Campionati CIK-FIA è una variabile che avremmo preferito non avere. In questa fase della stagione il nostro lavoro è ancora molto focalizzato sui temi tecnici, perché abbiamo introdotto molte novità, come per esempio il telaio Heron, che ha debuttato molto bene in gara lo scorso weekend e affiancherà i nostri KT2, KT4 e Road Rebel. Siamo in una fase di lavoro nella quale abbiamo bisogno di completare alcuni test e raccogliere dei dati che ci saranno utili nel proseguo della stagione, sia per la parte legata al telaio, sia per i motori. Quest’anno, infatti, abbiamo esteso il rapporto con la TM anche a molti piloti delle classi OKJ e OK e abbiamo un programma di lavoro serrato anche su questo fronte. Ma non trascureremo in ogni caso le nostre ambizioni di risultato, siamo tutti molto ottimisti di poter fare molto bene”.
