Smart Wireless Unifying System Broadband Network is the wireless solution that is the centralized infrastructure providing the unified service of FM, DMB, wireless, and Wi-Fi within 88 MHz~ 6GHz broadband.

proyecto astronómico más grande del mundo, el Atacama Large Millimeter/ submillimeter Array (ALMA), seguramente provocará que ríos de tinta corran en las revistas científicas de todo el mundo muy pronto, pero antes de que esto ocurra, ha sido cuidadosamente retratado en el hermoso foto libro titulado 'En búsqueda de nuestros orígenes cósmicos'.

Producido especialmente para la inauguración de ALMA, que se llevará a cabo hoy en una ceremonia oficial en su sitio de operaciones ubicado en los Andes chilenos, el libro de fotos da un vistazo a la historia del proyecto y a las personas que lo han hecho realidad. Las imágenes conducen al lector a través de un recorrido que se inicia en los primeros planes para crear un radio interferómetro gigante y en el nacimiento de la idea de un proyecto internacional común, para luego llevarlo a lo largo de la búsqueda de la ubicación perfecta y los desafíos técnicos y logísticos que presentó la construcción de ALMA, finalizando así en la exitosa culminación del proyecto que se pone de manifiesto gracias a los primeros increíbles resultados científicos, los que se alcanzaron incluso antes de que el observatorio estuviese en pleno funcionamiento.

Editado por Masaaki Hiramatsu, quien forma parte del Departamento de Educación y Difusión del Observatorio Astronómico Nacional de Japón en Chile, el foto libro incluye 66 imágenes (una para cada una de las 66 antenas que conforman el conjunto de ALMA) reunidas a partir de los archivos de las organizaciones socias del proyecto [1].

Copias del libro serán entregadas a invitados distinguidos en la ceremonia.

Dal 14 al 16 dicembre 2012 lo sciame meteorico delle Geminidi ha fatto una spettacolare apparizione sopra l'osservatorio Paranal dell'ESO in Cile. L'ambasciatore fotografico Gianluca Lombardi  è stato pronto a documentare, con la sua macchina fotografica, lo spettacolo della pioggia di meteoriti nei cieli sopra il sito astronomico,  passando più di 40 ore a riprendere l'evento. 

Le Geminidi sono uno sciame di stelle cadenti che sembra provenire della costellazione di Gemini (i Gemelli). Questo pioggia di stelle si verifica quando la Terra taglia l'orbita di un asteroide chiamato 3200 Phaethon, il che succede una volta all'anno, in dicembre. Le particelle nella coda di polvere lungo l'orbita di Phaethon bruciano nell'atmosfera terrestre, creando i brillanti e veloci punti luminosi caratteristici degli sciami meteorici. 

Questo è il secondo episodio della serie ''Chile Chill'', un tipo di ESOcast pensato per offrire un'esperienza del cielo notturno cileno e dei siti di osservazione di ESO che non è disturbata dalla narrazione. Si vede il Very Large Telescope (VLT), filmato a Paranal, che spara un raggio laser nel cielo per creare una stella artificiale. Questa stella permette al telescopio di produrre immagini di ottima qualità ottica. Si possono vedere brillare nel cielo delle  piccole meteore, alcune delle quali  lasciano dietro di sé una lunga scia. 

Esse si confondono facilmente con gli aeri occasionali che attraversano l'immagine, e con la stazione spaziale internazionale, che si muove velocemente attraverso il cielo come un puntino luminoso.

Uma análise do número de artigos científicos arbitrados publicados em 2012 utilizando dados obtidos pelos telescópios e instrumentos do ESO mostrou que o ESO continua a liderar como o observatório terrestre mais produtivo do mundo. Foram publicados mais de 870 artigos arbitrados utilizando dados do ESO no ano passado, o que corresponde um aumento significativo relativamente aos totais anteriores e é também o maior número de publicações num ano em toda a história do ESO. O número de artigos escritos em 2012 utilizando dados do ESO, ficou ligeiramente à frente dos artigos que utilizaram dados do Telescópio Espacial Hubble da NASA/ESA.

Cerca de 70% de todos os artigos escritos em 2012 com créditos dados ao ESO utilizam dados obtidos pelo Very Large Telescope (VLT)/Interferômetro do VLT, uma fração que vem aumentando de forma consistente ao longo dos últimos três anos. Outras infraestruturas astronômicas no Observatório La Silla Paranal - incluindo o telescópio de rastreio VISTA no Paranal e os telescópios e instrumentos em La Silla - têm números semelhantes ao ano anterior e por si só quase que alcançam a produtividade do segundo observatório terrestre mais produtivo, o Observatório W. M. Keck no Hawaii. A contribuição do telescópio de rastreio VISTA está aumentando rapidamente.

O Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, que celebrará a sua transição de projeto em construção a observatório completamente operacional a 13 de março de 2013 com a inauguração oficial, já teve 16 artigos científicos arbitrados publicados em 2012 utilizando dados do ESO [1].

Os métodos utilizados para obter estes números variam de observatório para observatório, por isso os números não devem ser comparados entre si de modo muito preciso. Op 13 maart 2013 wordt het grootste astronomische project ter wereld, de Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) [1], geïnaugureerd. Daarmee wordt de overgang gemarkeerd van telescoop-in-aanbouw naar volledig operationeel observatorium. Voor vertegenwoordigers van de media die niet aanwezig kunnen zijn bij dit evenement, wordt een online persbijeenkomst georganiseerd via Adobe Connect op 12 maart 2013 om 12.00 uur CET door de partnerorganisaties van ALMA.

Er worden presentaties gegeven over de ontwikkeling, inauguratie en toekomst van het ALMA-project, inclusief het laatste nieuws over de wetenschappelijke prestaties. Journalisten krijgen de gelegenheid om vragen te stellen aan de ingenieurs en wetenschappers van ALMA. De sprekers zijn ALMA-directeur Thijs de Graauw, wetenschappelijk directeur Ryohei Kawabe, de Leidse professor en voormalige ALMA-bestuurslid Ewine van Dishoeck, en het hoofd van de afdeling techniek van ALMA, Michael Thorburn.

Í þessum aukaþætti — ESOcast 47 — skoðum við eina mikilvægustu leit sem stjörnufræðingar hafa lagt í undanfarnar aldir: Leitina að lífi í alheiminum. ESO hefur leikið mikilvægt hlutverk í þessari merku vegferð.

3,6 metra sjónauki ESO hefur náð einna mestum árangri í leitinni að fjarreikistjörnum. Með HARPS litrófsritanum á honum hafa stjörnufræðingar fundið meira en 150 reikistjörnur. Very Large Telescope (VLT) hefur einnig lagt sitt af mörkum til rannsókna á fjarreikistjörnum. Sem dæmi tóku stjörnufræðingar fyrstu ljósmyndina af reikistjörnu utan okkar sólkerfis árið 2004 (eso0428). Það sem meira er hefur stjörnufræðingum líka tekist að greina lofthjúp risajarðar, reikistjörnunnar GJ 1214b sem er 2,6 sinnum stærri en jörðin. Þegar smíði European Extremely Large Telescope lýkur gæti hann vonandi líka fundið vísbendingar um lífhvolf á þessum reikistjörnum: Fyrstu fingraför lífs utan okkar sólkerfis.

Do akceptacji rozpoczÄ™cia programu E-ELT potrzeba gÅ‚osów dwóch trzecich Krajów CzÅ‚onkowskich (co najmniej dziesiÄ™ciu) popierajÄ…cych uchwaÅ‚Ä™ dotyczÄ…cÄ… aprobaty dla E-ELT i jego pierwszego zestawu instrumentów. 1 Ocak 2012’de, Avrupa radyo gökbilimi, RadioNet’in üçüncü tekrarı olan RadioNet3’ün, Avrupa radyo gökbilimi iÅŸbirliÄŸi uygulanması ile yeni bir çaÄŸa girdi. Radyo gökbilimi için tanınmış bir Avrupa kuruluÅŸu olan, RadioNet, Avrupa radyo gökbilimcileri için dünya genelinde önde gelen radyo gökbilimi tesislerine eriÅŸimi kolaylaÅŸtırmayı amaçlamaktadır.

Avrupa Komisyonu yakın bir tarihte 2012-2015 dönemi için 9.5 milyon euro hibe ederek projeyi güvence altına almıştır.
