Le CCR se réunit tous les trois mois. Les réunions permettent de former des consensus et de s'occuper de problèmes qui concernent la Réserve dans son ensemble. Treize membres du Conseil, dont le président, y assistent habituellement, mais les participants sont parfois deux fois plus nombreux quand des officiers d'état-major et des responsables des briefings assistent aux réunions.

The CRC meetings are held quarterly. This is a venue for building consensus and addressing concerns on pan-Reserve issues. There have traditionally been thirteen members of this Council, including the Chairperson, but sometimes attendance has been double this number with staff officers and briefers sitting in on the meetings.

The Chief Reserves Council (CRC) is one of the main vehicles for communication between the Environmental Chief of Staff (ECS) Senior Reserve Advisors (SRA), other reservist stakeholders and Chief Reserves and Cadets (C Res & Cdts). It is necessary for C Res & Cdts to actively seek support and input when identifying and dealing with pan-Reserve issues. On the other side, the ECS SRAs and stakeholders have a responsibility to identify and bring forward pan-Reserve issues to C Res & Cdts.
