Los participantes han dormido esta noche en Granyena de Les Garrigues y visitarán, a partir de hoy jueves, diferentes molinos, bodegas y puntos de interés del territorio hasta mañana viernes, día 15 de enero, que participarán en una cata de aceites y otro de vinos, en el recinto ferial.

The Board of Les Borges Blanques Fair has organized this international mission of promoting the most important fair of Les Garrigues, its oil, wine, and other food products and its cultural heritage coinciding with the 53rd edition of the event. The group was coordinated by the journalist Rafa Gimena, from the gastronomic consultancy ComoPomona, among others, and included the international Slow Food Councilor for Spain and Portugal, Alberto López de Ipiña; the director of Routes with flavor, a radio program of Radio Sol XXI (Madrid), and member of the board of the Spanish Federation of Travel and Tourism Journalists, Juan Herrera; the president of the Barça Gastronomic club, Pere Duran; bloggers and journalists of gastronomy and tourism as Sue Tolson (Hungary), Rowena Dumlao (Italy) or Laure Marie Ducloy (France). Participants slept last night in Granyena de Les Garrigues and they will visit, from Thursday, various mills, wineries and attractions of the territory until tomorrow, Friday, January 15, to participate in a tasting of oils and wines in the Oil Fair. The organization will provide that, during the visits and meals, participants can taste the oils and wines that will participate in the Fair Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Les Garrigues. Among the cultural sites to be visited include the Vilars d’Arbeca, the Oil Theme Park, the Viewpoint of Les Garrigues, the towns of Les Borges Blanques, el Vilosell or el Cogul cave art paintings. In this way we want to promote, together with the fair and the oil, wine and other gastronomic and cultural products as an important part of the landscape, culture and history of the territory.
