In shop floor data collection, SFDC units are deployed in many companies to record events and to provide feedback on activities that have been commenced or concluded. The processing of events has not been a functional part of SFDC terminals up to now. The AVISO routines now incorporate new logic in the devices, allowing them to respond to events. This allows additional customer-specific programming of input and display dialogs. This opens up completely new options in progress monitoring, job feedback and monitoring, recording of machine set-up times or machine data collection and machine control. If, for example, the operation/standstill monitoring reports a standstill, the response can be, for example, to feed material to the machine. The flexible structure of the recording dialogs now allows companies, for example, to report many small orders quickly and simply all at once or to ensure that warning lights are controlled.
