In other fields, too, Switzerland conducts its affairs through the UN whenever an internationally coordinated approach is more rational and efficient than an individual project. This is the case in peace and security policy, development and humanitarian aid, and in economic, social and cultural matters.

La Suisse est consciente du fait qu’une action coordonnée sur le plan international est souvent plus judicieuse et plus efficace que des projets individuels. C’est pourquoi elle se tourne aussi vers l’ONU pour résoudre des problèmes relevant de la politique de paix et de sécurité, de la coopération au développement et de l’aide humanitaire ainsi que pour traiter des thèmes économiques, sociétaux et culturels. Le cadre de l’ONU est également important pour faire respecter et développer le droit international.

Auch bei anderen Aufgaben geht die Schweiz dort den Weg über die UNO, wo ein international koordiniertes Vorgehen sinnvoller und effizienter ist als Einzelprojekte. Dies gilt für die Friedens- und Sicherheitspolitik, für die Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und humanitäre Hilfe sowie für Themen der Wirtschaft, Gesellschaft und Kultur. Der UNO-Rahmen ist auch wichtig, um das Völkerrecht international durchzusetzen und weiterzuentwickeln.

Anche per altri compiti la Svizzera segue la strada dell’ONU quando una procedura coordinata a livello internazionale è più opportuna ed efficiente di singoli progetti, come per la politica di pace e di sicurezza, per la cooperazione allo sviluppo e l’aiuto umanitario, come pure per temi economici, sociali e culturali. Il quadro dell’ONU è anche importante per imporre e sviluppare a livello mondiale il diritto internazionale pubblico.
