Протоженственность затруднит для многих девочек приобретение качеств, необходимых для реализации в гениальном художественном творчестве. Для того чтобы одаренная девочка сохранила потенциал в творчестве, особенно гениальном, ей, по-видимому, необходимо идентифицироваться с обоими родителями.

Brilliant Cuban pianist Omar Sosa was filmed by Paris film company Barking Dogs Production on tour recently in Ethiopia, Sudan, Burundi, and Kenya. The outcome will be two films: one, a documentary of Omar’s touring experience in those countries, and a second one a concert video of the show in Nairobi.

The Prisoner’s Dilemma is the standard model for studying the evolution of cooperation. In the recent edition of the online publication PLoS ONE, a team of researchers – including the IST Austria scientists Prof. Krishnendu Chatterjee and PhD student Johannes Reiter (pictured above) – examines a scenario in which two players have to alternately decide over numerous moves whether to cooperate with or defect each other. Using a mathematical model and computer simulation the team can show that the strategy named “Forgiver” proves to be the most successful. A forgiver defects once when the opponent has defected but subsequently tries to re-establish cooperation which leads to a long term success in the alternating Prisoner’s Dilemma.
Das Gefangenendilemma ist das Standardmodell, um die Evolution von Kooperation zu untersuchen. Ein Forscherteam, dem die IST Austria Wissenschaftler Prof. Krishnendu Chatterjee und Dokotorand Johannes Reiter (im Bild) angehören, analysiert nun in einer aktuellen Arbeit in der Online-Publikation PLoS ONE ein Szenario, in dem sich zwei Spieler über viele Runden hinweg abwechselnd entscheiden müssen, ob sie kooperieren oder einander betrügen. Anhand eines mathematischen Modells und Computersimulationen kann das Forscherteam zeigen, dass die Strategie "Forgiver" (zu Deutsch „Vergeber“), die auf Betrug mit Betrug antwortet, jedoch danach wieder zur Kooperation zurückkehrt, zu langfristigem Erfolg im Gefangenendilemma führt.
