European construction was in keeping with this dual dynamic. As reconstruction drew to a close from the mid-1950s, the problem of a return to free international trade emerged after the protectionist phase that arose in the aftermath of the 1929 crisis. Encouraged by the satisfactory results of the first organizations for European economic cooperation—the OEEC (Organisation for European Economic Co-operation) of 1948 and the ECSC (European Coal and Steel Community) of 1951—the governments of six ECSC member states (the three Benelux countries of Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands along with the three major continental European countries of France, Italy, and West Germany) chose to create the European Economic Community (EEC), a more ambitious organization based on a customs union. Unlike a simple free trade zone, a customs union included the unification of external trade policy as well as the elimination of internal obstacles to trade. A “common external tariff,” that is to say customs protection shared by each of the Six, was defined at the time. The creation of a customs union helped provide greater weight in the international free trade negotiations heralded by the end of reconstruction.

À partir du milieu des années 1950, la reconstruction s’achevant, se pose le problème du retour à la libération des échanges internationaux, après la phase protectionniste des lendemains de la crise de 1929. Encouragés par les résultats satisfaisants des premières organisations de coopération économique européenne, l’OECE (Organisation européenne de coopération économique) de 1948 et la CECA (Communauté européenne du charbon et de l'acier) de 1951, les gouvernements de six pays membres de la CECA (les trois pays du Benelux – Belgique, Luxembourg, Pays-Bas – et les trois grands pays d’Europe continentale – France, Italie, Allemagne de l’Ouest) choisissent alors de fonder une organisation plus ambitieuse, la Communauté économique européenne (CEE), dont la base constitue une union douanière. À la différence d’une simple zone de libre-échange, une union douanière ajoute à la suppression des obstacles internes aux échanges, l’unification des politiques commerciales extérieures. Un « tarif extérieur commun », soit une protection douanière commune à chacun des Six, est alors défini. La création d’une union douanière permet d’avoir plus de poids dans les négociations de libération internationales qui s’annoncent avec la fin de la reconstruction.

However, it is the most common brain tumour and the most malignant of human brain cancers due to its rapid infiltrating growth. Glioblastomas develop predominantly in the cerebrum, in particular in what is known as the subventricular zone, a tissue layer touching one of the two brain chambers of the cerebrum. It is known that neural stem cells reside in the subventricular zone in the adult mammalian brain. These stem cells continually generate new neurons.

Im Vergleich mit so häufigen Krebsformen wie dem Lungenkarzinom, dem Mammakarzinom oder dem Kolorektalkarzinom ist das Glioblastom mit etwa 3.000 Erkrankungen pro Jahr in Deutschland ein eher seltener Tumor. Es ist aber der häufigste hirneigene Krebs und wegen seiner Aggressivität und seines schnellen, infiltrierenden Wachstums besonders gefürchtet. Das Glioblastom entsteht zumeist im Großhirn, besonders häufig in der so genannten subventrikularen Zone, einer den beiden Hirnkammern des Großhirns anliegenden Gewebeschicht. Diese subventrikulare Zone ist, wie man heute weiß, auch der Ort, an dem die neuralen Stammzellen angesiedelt sind, also jene Zellen, aus denen im erwachsenen Gehirn neue Nervenzellen gebildet werden.

Тогава лидерите в същия "нормандски" формат договориха меморандум от девет точки, сред които създаването на 30-километрова буферна зона, забрана на полетите на военни самолети над част от източна Украйна, изтегляне на чуждите наемници от двете страни и др. От тогава досега обаче няма никакъв напредък по изпълнението на споразумението. За разлика от мнозина руският президент Владимир Путин е оптимист. Той вижда 70% вероятност от мирно споразумение, което отново ще включва спиране на огъня, създаване на демилитаризирана зона и изтегляне на тежките оръжия.
