Cette première phase consiste à mettre en œuvre un projet à échelle réduite qui prévoit l'expédition de minerai à enfournement direct (DSO) demandant relativement peu d'investissements ce qui permettra à l'entreprise de générer un flux de trésorerie, cette étape devant par la suite lui permettre de développer un projet beaucoup plus ambitieux.

The Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) announced the extension from 5 to 8 Participating States of the EU-funded Regional Fisheries Monitoring mechanism in the Southwest Indian Ocean. The 8 Participating States (Comoros, Madagascar, France / La Réunion, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Tanzania) have signed the 2017 Fisheries Ministerial Declaration to commit to the institutionalised structure of the IOC Secretariat to combat IUU fishing and fisheries crimes in the industrial tuna fisheries in the South West Indian Ocean basin.

La Commission de l’océan Indien (COI) a annoncé que le nombre d’États participant au mécanisme régional de gestion des pêches dans l’océan Indien du Sud-Ouest financé par l’Union passait de cinq à huit. Les huit États participants (les Comores, Madagascar, la France / la Réunion, le Kenya, l’île Maurice, le Mozambique, les Seychelles, la Tanzanie) ont signé la déclaration ministérielle sur la pêche de 2017 afin de s’engager en faveur de la structure institutionnalisée du secrétariat de la COI pour lutter contre la pêche INN et la criminalité liée à la pêche dans les pêches au thon industrielles du bassin de l’océan Indien du Sud-Ouest. Cela encouragera une gestion des ressources durables au sein de la deuxième plus grande pêche thonière mondiale.

In Bezug auf das Tsunami-Frühwarnsystem im Indischen Ozean sagte Patricio Bernal, Chef der Zwischenstaatlichen Ozeanografischen Kommission (IOC), eines wissenschaftlichen Gremiums der Organisation der Vereinten Nationen für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur (UNESCO): „Sie können das beste und technisch ausgefeilteste Frühwarnsystem und die beste Risikoabschätzung haben, aber wenn sie keine dazu passenden Notfall- und Evakuierungsvorkehrungen haben, sind sie verloren.“ Um Katastrophen wie den Tsunami vom 26. Dezember 2004, wo weder ein Frühwarnsystem, noch Evakuierungspläne vorhanden waren, zu verhindern, gründete die IOC im Juni eine Gruppe, die das Frühwarnsystem koordinieren soll und aus einem noch zu errichtenden Netzwerk von nationalen Systemen besteht, das durch eine regionale Basis verbunden ist.

Les Seychelles sont membres du Marché commun d’Afrique australe et d’Afrique orientale (Comesa), de la Commission de l'océan Indien (COI) et de la Communauté pour le développement de l’Afrique australe (SADC). L’archipel appartient à la zone de libre-échange du Comesa depuis 2009 et négocie actuellement sa participation à l’accord de libre-échange de la SADC. Sur le front multilatéral, les Seychelles ont déposé une demande d’adhésion à l’Organisation mondiale du commerce (OMC) en 1995 et progressent vers leur admission. Une troisième réunion du groupe de travail s’est tenue en juillet 2012 (la précédente avait eu lieu en 2010) suite à la présentation par le pays d’une proposition révisée pour les biens et services (en avril et mai 2012) et à la mise en place récente d’une mission à Genève.

Der Rechtsstreit wurde von einer starken medialen Präsenz des ČOV begleitet. Am Anfang des Streites behauptete das ČOV zum Beispiel, dass der Rechtsfall negative internationale Folgen haben sowie eine negative Reaktion der Brauerei Anheuser-Busch (A-B) oder des Internationalen Olympischen Komitees hervorrufen würde. Budweiser Budvar hat aber nun die Bestätigung, dass A-B nie Schritte in diesem Zusammenhang unternehmen wollte und das Internationale Olympische Komitee sich der Klage letztlich auch nicht anschloss. Bezüglich des außergerichtlichen Vergleichs informierte das ČOV die Medien, dass der Vergleich wegen dem „arroganten“ Verhalten der Brauerei Budweiser Budvar scheiterte. Seitens der Brauerei Budweiser Budvar handelte es sich keineswegs um Arroganz, da das ČOV für den Fall eines außergerichtlichen Vergleichs anfangs 14 Mio. CZK (später wurde der Betrag auf 10 Mio. CZK reduziert) verlangte. Das ČOV versuchte, diesen eindeutig ungünstigen Vergleich mit Gewalt zu erzwingen, indem es Verhandlungen beim Landwirtschaftsministerium führte. Das harte Vorgehen des ČOV gegen die Kampagne der Brauerei Budweiser Budvar ist auf den Druck eines der Sponsoren des Tschechischen Olympischen Teams zurückzuführen. Der Sponsor verlangte vom ČOV, unverzüglich und rasant einzugreifen und die Werbekampagne zu stoppen. Ansonsten hätte er Anspruch auf Schadensersatz oder andere Sanktionen erhoben. „Aufgrund der Dokumente, die Bestandteil der Gerichtsakten sind, haben wir nun die Überzeugung gewonnen, dass es in diesem Streit nicht um den Schutz der olympischen Symbole, sondern um einen Konkurrenzkampf geht. Wir sind sehr enttäuscht, dass das ČOV zum Instrument in diesem Kampf wurde,“ schließt Petr Samec ab.
