This outstanding growth is not just about increasing membership numbers. Because of these new members, JCI India has tremendously increased its potential for creating positive change in hundreds of communities throughout the nation. This membership boost was achieved through the hard work of thousands of young active citizens committed to taking the destiny of their communities into their own hands. 2011 turned out to be a very successful year for JCI. While most membership based non-profit organizations are facing significant membership decline, overall JCI membership grew three percent during 2011. Also in 2011, JCI expanded to nine new countries: Algeria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, El Salvador, Moldova, Spain, and Gambia. Across the world, JCI is expanding with new Local Organizations emerging every day. More importantly, JCI members are responding to the challenges of their communities by implementing projects aligned with United Nations Millennium Development Goals, thereby creating sustainable positive change. By bringing new members to JCI, you can help us take one step closer to realizing the JCI Vision while helping your community leap forward by creating an even greater impact. Looking ahead, JCI will continue its expansion to new territories while building on the successes achieved in 2011. We commend JCI National Organizations like JCI India for their commitment to the JCI Mission and sharing their passion for positive change. If you would like to help expand JCI in a city near you or bring JCI to your country, please do not hesitate to contact the JCI World Headquarters.
