However, after becoming an AOC in 1970, one of the last to join the club ; the AOC began in 1936 – Pommard being one of the first appellations to be classified ; regulators ignored the appellation since. Unbelievably, none of Meursault’s vineyards were ever granted Grand Cru status before. The village’s reputation today as one of Burgundy’s most acclaimed Chardonnay growers is purely down to the winemaker’s hard work. The wine does all the talking.

La produzione di vino rosso è però in diminuzione perché in questo settore, la concorrenza all’interno del proprio paese è molto forte.
