Auch in Restaurants ist die Schlüsselloch-Auszeichnung freiwillig, doch müssen die Restaurants ein Zertifizierungsverfahren absolvieren, um das Symbol verwenden zu können. Die National Food Administration hat eine neue Zertifizierungsstelle eingerichtet, die die Qualität der Restaurants sicherstellt. Die gemeinnützige Gesellschaft „KeyHole Restaurant Association” wurde im Januar 2009 gegründet. Gründungsmitglieder sind neben der National Food Administration ist das schwedische staatliche Institut für Gesundheitswesen (FHI), die schwedische Hotel- und Restaurantvereinigung (SHR), der schwedische Lebensmittelverband (Li), der schwedische Verband der Lebensmittel-Einzelhändler (DLF), die School of Hospitality, Culinary Arts & Meal Science an der Örebro Universität, Campus Grythyttan, und Culinary Arts and Food Sciences an der Hochschule Kristianstad.

Food producers are themselves responsible for ensuring that foods with the keyhole symbol conform to National Food Administration regulations.Keyhole labelling in restaurants is also voluntary, but the restaurants need to go through a certification process to use the keyhole. The National Food Administration has established a new certification body aimed at assuring the quality of the restaurants. The non-profit organization “the KeyHole Restaurant Association” was established in January 2009.
