Il Papa è motivato dalla necessità di elevare una nuova, e speciale, supplica a Dio perché comincino a dipanarsi i molteplici, e sempre più aggrovigliati, nodi che avvolgono le vicende umane in quella regione, paradossalmente culla delle tre grandi religioni monoteiste.

The Pope is motivated by the need for a new and special supplication to God to begin to unravel the many, and increasingly tangled knots that encompass human affairs in that region, paradoxically the cradle of the three great monotheistic religions. This not only solicits our excitement and involvement, it also urges us to better understand the reasons for such an important decision.

Le Pape est motivé par la nécessité d’élever une supplication nouvelle et spéciale vers Dieu, afin que se démêlent les noeuds multiples et épais qui accablent cette région, laquelle est paradoxalement le berceau des trois grandes religions monothéistes. Cela justifie que nous restions impliqués et que nous soyons dans le même temps suffisamment touchés pour chercher à mieux saisir les raisons d’une décision si importante.

Anlass ist für den Papst die Notwendigkeit, von neuem ein besonderes, flehentliches Gebet zu Gott zu erheben, damit sie zahlreichen, dichten Knoten gelöst werden, die auf dieser Region lasten, die paradoxerweise die Wiege der drei großen monotheistischen Religionen ist. Dies rechtfertigt, dass auch wir uns einbeziehen und genügend davon berühren lassen, um zu versuchen, die Gründe für eine solch bedeutende Entscheidung besser zu verstehen.
