In 2003, Helmut Fischer was the first German enterprise to receive accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for the measurement quantity "surface dimensions". This entitles the company to check calibration standards on behalf of the German accreditation body, DAkkS, to certify them and to make them available to users. Calibration standards are used, for example, for the calibration of X-ray fluorescence instruments; this significantly increases the reliability of the measurements taken with this method.
See annab ettevõttele õiguse akrediteerimisasutuse DAkkS nimel kontrollida kalibreerimisstandardeid nende sertifitseerimiseks ja kasutajatele kättesaadavaks tegemiseks. Kalibreerimisstandardeid kasutatakse näiteks röntgen-fluorestsentsinstrumentide kalibreerimiseks; see suurendab oluliselt selle meetodiga tehtud mõõtmiste usaldusväärsust.
2003 m. Helmutas Fischeras buvo pirmasis Vokietijos įmonė, kuri pagal "DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025" akreditaciją matavimų kiekiui "paviršiaus matmenis" gavo. Tai suteikia teisę bendrovei patikrinti kalibravimo standartus Vokietijos akreditacijos įstaigos DAkkS vardu, kad jie būtų patvirtinti ir padaryti juos prieinamus vartotojams. Kalibravimo standartai naudojami, pavyzdžiui, rentgeno fluorescencijos prietaisų kalibravimui; tai žymiai padidina matavimų, atliktų taikant šį metodą, patikimumą.
W 2003 roku Helmut Fischer jako pierwsza niemiecka firma otrzymała certyfikat zgodności z DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 w zakresie pomiarów „parametrów powierzchni”. Dzięki temu możemy sprawdzać wzorce kalibracyjne w imieniu niemieckiej jednostki akredytującej, DAkkS, certyfikować je i udostępniać użytkownikom naszych przyrządów. Wzorce kalibracyjne służą m.in, do kalibracji spektrometrów do fluorescencji rentgenowskiej, co znacznie zwiększa wiarygodność pomiarów wykonywanych tą metodą.

A mistake that I sometimes made was being too economical with my dates. In my country this is common and people take it for granted, so I didn’t realize there was anything wrong. Then, some of my dates told me later that this was one of the reasons why they didn’t want to continue the relationship.
The Andalusia region in Spain is using ESF funding to protect a native breed of mountain sheep while helping local sheep farmers to keep up with the growing demand for organic products. The breed of sheep, called ‘Loja’ after the mountains in the region, was declared a native species in danger of extinction in 2007. In response, the Loja Sheep Breed Association, which includes livestock farmers in the region, sought ‘organic’ status for the breed which was awarded by the Andalusian Committee for Organic Farming. The organic label certifies that the resulting organic lamb product is sourced from animals reared in an environmentally friendly manner which also preserves the breed. In parallel, ESF co-funding was used to train and certify more than 30 local sheep farmers in organic livestock farming methods – this training is now mandatory for members of the Loja Sheep Breed Association. As a result, in December 2010 the first ‘Christmas organic lamb’ from the Loja region will be hitting the dinner tables in the region and beyond. And encouraged by the success so far, the Association’s 57 members are making plans to offer training in handmade organic cheese-making as another way of preserving rural livelihoods through finding new ways to add value.

While the questions in the surveys in 2008 and 2009 focussed on stakeholder needs, in 2010 emphasis switched to examining what the RNU had achieved. The questions asked are often “yes” and “no” in nature, but once summed, they can easily be translated into indicators and provide quantitative results. The results of the surveys feed into the yearly Activity Report.
