The ADCA has warned the government and the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation over a number of incidents, including a total communications failure in Punta Cana, with controllers co-ordinating by mobile phone, and unserviceable navigation aids at La Isabela International Airport, forcing pilots to complete all approaches visually.

Die ADCA hatte die Regierung und das dominikanische Institut für Zivilluftfahrt auf mehrere Vorfälle hingewiesen, unter anderem den kompletten Ausfall der Kommunikationssysteme in Punta Cana, bei dem die Fluglotsen sich über Handys verständigen mussten, und funktionsunfähige Navigationshilfen im Internationalen Flughafen La Isabela, wodurch die Pilot/innen zu Landungen auf Sicht gezwungen waren.

ITF affiliates in Panama and Colombia have responded swiftly, with two picket lines already being planned for next week in front of their respective Dominican Republic embassies. Meanwhile, unions and supporters have sent messages of support and protest from around the world. These include the US National Air Traffic Controllers' Association (NATCA), which has registered its complaint with the Dominican Republic's president.

Профсоюз ADCA предупредил правительство и доминиканский Институт гражданской авиации о ряде опасных инцидентов, в том числе о полной потери связи с Пунта Каной, когда авиадиспетчерам пришлось действовать, используя сотовые телефоны, а также о невозможности провести техническое обслуживание навигационных систем и приборов в международном аэропорту Ла-Изабела, из-за чего пилотам пришлось совершать визуальный заход на посадку.
