Сегодня будущее развитие полярной зоны, составляющей значительную часть территории России, снова находится в центре внимания серьезных исследований, а также привлекает к себе интерес как с экономической, так и с политической точек зрения. В этой связи оно, несомненно, станет для России одним из основных приоритетов на ближайшее время. Среди главных проблем этой территории – экологические риски, демографические тенденции, условия жизни коренных малочисленных народов, вопросы здоровья и доступа к основным социальным сервисам для жителей удаленных районов.
