Après, je me souviendrais toujours du premier déj’ que j’ai fais chez Septime avec mon pote Yué où on a mangé une poitrine de cochon qui était exceptionnelle. De là est née une amitié avec ce chef, on a fait notamment une couverture de magazine avec Yué et Bertrand Grébaut.

Bevor dies geschieht, kontrolliert eine zusätzliche dritte Kamera [7] in der Zwischenposition [4] die Hohlkörper auf Bruch und Verschmutzungen. Unzulängliche Produkte werden ausgeschleust. Nach erfolgter Begutachtung nimmt der 6-Achs-Roboter die einwandfreien Hohlkörper mit seinem Werkzeug auf und setzt diese in den Drehteller [8] der Wickelmaschine ein. An den Zellen [10] können verschiedene Produkte unabhängig voneinander gefahren werden – allesamt gleich schonend.

It all started with window frames. De Knegt and his wife wanted to replace the existing aluminium window frames in their home and, at the same time, have double glazing installed upstairs. ‘The house needed to have some work done – a great opportunity to make energy savings’, he explains. But new aluminium window frames turned out to be difficult to find. ‘Through the National Energy Savings Fund, we were informed about the guidelines for sustainability and the technical figures. We used that knowledge to draw up specs for the project, which we then sent to a number of different manufacturers, inviting quotations for the work. It took some time, but luckily we ended up finding a window-frame manufacturer who was able to make the frames after all. And it turned out that they were cheaper with triple glazing than plastic window frames with double glazing. That just goes to show you that a sustainable renovation pays off in all sorts of different ways.’

Het begon allemaal met kozijnen. De Knegt en zijn vrouw wilden de bestaande aluminium kozijnen van de woning vervangen en tegelijkertijd dubbel glas op de bovenverdieping laten plaatsen. ‘Het huis was toe aan een onderhoudsbeurt’, vertelt hij. ‘Een mooie gelegenheid om aan energiebesparing te doen.’ Maar nieuwe aluminium kozijnen bleken lastig te vinden. ‘Via de Stichting Nationaal Energiebespaarfonds lieten we ons informeren over de richtlijnen voor duurzaamheid en technische waardes. Die verwerkten we in een offerteaanvraag aan diverse fabrikanten. Het duurde even, maar toen vonden we gelukkig toch een kozijnenbouwer die de kozijnen kon maken. En ze bleken met driedubbel glas ook nog eens goedkoper dan kunststof kozijnen met dubbel glas. Zo’n duurzame verbouwing loont dus op verschillende manieren.’
